SHOPPING

Man! Spent 7 hours shopping today and didn't buy a single thing?!?! Walked practically the whole stretch of Oxford street and Regent street and the closest i came to buying something is a pair of corduroy pants that didnt have my size! 5 of us went shopping together and only one person bought something. Gee! Topshop was such a disappointment, it was so blardy crowded i actually felt HOT in the shop. And the clothes weren't that nice at all, it was such a mess! And FCUK was still quite expensive, i like Zara best. Every time i enter Zara, i feel inexplicably excited.. woo, hope the Covent Garden one will be friendler. So, we were unsatisfied with our shopping and decided to spend our money eating instead. Haha! Tomorrow, i'm going to hantam Covent Garden, pray let there be something nice! I need to get beanie and scarf at least to fight Scotland!

A little update

Hey guys! My apologies for not updating for so long, you know me, never had a habit of blogging to begin with! If not for your requests, i probably wouldnt update! Haha.. oops. And i am so lazy to recount my trips so guess what i'll do, i'm going to copy and paste what i typed to some of you and put it down here for everyone to read! It was quite an adventure, travelling with friends! luckily the guys were damn good at navigating maps so the girls didnt have to do much. Highlights include Vatican City, Colosseum, statue of David, uncountable museums with paintings by da vinci etc, beautiful churhces and of course the leaning tower of pisa. Ate lotsa italian food and pastries (super nice!) = (groww fat.. but i dont really care lah! hahaha) . Venice's really pretty too.. dditn see a single car the entire time we were there, the whole city has like small canals flowing through it, so people travel by boats. I ate so much pasta and pizzas, haven't eaten any since i came back from Italy and did i mention their pastries are super nice, woah, it's the eat then faint kind of pastry. Super yummy. The most irritating part of the journey was the LAST day, we were supposed to catch the 11pm flight back to London but cos of fog, it was CANCELLED. So, we waited till like 10am the next morning to catch our flight. Slept at the airport.. like homeless ppl lah and it was so cold! ( the plight of poor budget travellers). I'll let the pictures do more of the talking okae!

And Wales was lets just say, not very entertaining! Haha, we covered the attractions in Cardiff in one day and decided to get out of Cardiff in the second day, travelled to some small town outside Cardiff, along the way, there were stretches of nice scenery but when we reached the town, we walked up and down, down and up and there was nothing to do! So there, just take it as a trip within UK lah.. haha. And i watched King Kong there! Cheaper than London, haha, and ppl, don't complain about paying $9.50 for a movie ticket on weekends okae, its still cheaper than Wales. King Kong was kinda gruesome at certain parts i thought, but quite a nice show lah. Waiting for Memoirs of a Geisha to be released! I aim to go to Rendezvous( supposedly very nice deserts, cakes and pastries) before school starts!

And it's Christmas today and All the shops are closed! No one's on the streeets at all. I went over to Rosebery last night to have a christmas dinner, nice food man! Thanks Watson and gang and i stayed over last night cos we had a count down (or we were supposed to, but we kinda missed it cos we were clearing up the dishes, so dumb! Haha!). And today is Christmas dayand it's not snowing, infact the weather's pretty good, sunny and not too cold and because everyone's home celebrating Christmas, there's nothing to do outside! So here i am, updating you guys on Christmas. Hope you guys are having a blast back home, enjoy the holidays while it lasts! As for me, i can't wait to go shopping where hopefully, there'll be good buys and i'm going to watch Twelfth Night ! Hope it's good! I wrote down so many things on my to-do list in dec but there's so little time left and i still have to study which is such a chore, at the rate i'm going, i wont be able to finish! Growl...

Oh yeah, i went bowling a few days ago which was quite fun and i went to Harrods to soak in the Christmas atmosphere with Winnie and got a free Krispy Creme! So happy ! And i spotted a box of opened chocolates and hurry koped one and it was damn good, that choc is super ex and i think they accidentally left it there, too bad for them cos chocolates can't escape my sharp eye. Wanted to go back to get one more but it disappeared already, sad! And we got a free gingerbread man biscuit at the kids floor, it was actually for the kids queuing up to see Santa Claus, but heck , just take! So, got lotsa free food from Harrods, haha! Harrods looked really pretty cos of all the lighting!
Ah, i can't wait to go Scotland... will be very soon and before u know it, school will re-open again! Chiong ! I will work harder next term i promise and i'm going to be more busy so more juggling skills needed. Today's the exact 3rd month i've been here, so much has happened but i'm still the same old me. I miss family, i miss you guys alot, 5+ months to home seems like an awfully long time and i could say this again and again, that no matter how tough the going gets, i'm grateful to be here.

A random thought, i think i'm going to remain a spinster! How scary.

Mummy always tells me, nothing has changed at home so you don't have to miss home. But sometimes, all you crave for is that bit of familiarity. Everyone going home is glowing, radiating, and then i would imagine myself back home in the hot weather, eating my favourite prata, reading The Straits Times, watching 9 o'clock drama serials, going to Orchard Road. I want to eat the ma3 ti2 shu1 and drink the teh tarik at far east square, I miss home cooked food like good ol' steamed pomfret, kangkong, sweet and sour pork, mayonnaise prawns etc etc etc I want to go out with YOU GUYS again, play badminton, shop etc etc. But really, reminding myself that it's going to be a very short three years, and it's not every day you get to be in London, it's important to keep yourself happy! It hasn't been easy but i know home is always just a phone call away. You know, i'm imagining June 18 next year when i finally touch down at beloved Changi, i'll be so happy, i'll jump into papa's arms and scream and cry. Yeah, going to make another big hoo hah at the airport. Haha.

Just found one more thing to do during the hols. Watch the Nutcracker... heard that you can get cheaper tickets if you queue up on the morning of the performance. Hmm, and mummy insists that i eat the ''sticky red date pudding with something somehthing topped with haagen dazs vanilla ice cream'' at this EX restaurant at Covent Garden because somebody wrote in the papers that it's the best thing she has eaten ever. So, hmm. But i think i'd rather go to Rendezvous.

The switching of rooms has been bugging me,this girl came to view the room just now, did u know? Was so excited when she called me to say she's interested that i LS... oops. Yeah. But it didn't work out, she gave some crappy reason. And then mummy was asking me, are you sure you want to move out? (Though i don't have a choice now) This hall that i'm staying in is a great hall for location and facilites. If i've lived through it for one term, it's just another one and a half more terms to go. Besides, i'll be alot more busy next term cos of rehearsals and i just agreed to be emcee for Hwachong night(gasp!) and somemore i'm going to join one society/sport and do abit of volunteering and i'm taking part in this business competition, the time spent in the room should be much less and i can always escape to school during the weekends to do work if i want. So therein lies the question, should i move. Hmmm... i'm the only idiot facing this problem lah. I could apply to intercollegiate halls at the end of December when there would most probably be movements. Okae, don't think about it, dont think about it. When the time comes, i'll know. I'll have the whole room to myself soon. I'm going to Italy soon, i'm throwing all my books and leaving!

Good day!

This morning, i woke up at 8am to play badminton! It was good, happy smashing, happy venting! Then spent the whole day in school getting my essay going and then went for OCF dinner at King's chapel. My god, the food was so good i was so happy lah. Kept smiling! Quick recap of what food they had: sushi, fried rice, pasta, shepherd's pie, bobohitam, chicken wings, mushroom in wine, cheesy brocolli, krispy kremes, desert was toffee covered banana, almond jelly. Woah, it was just damn good, happiness! Havent had such finger licking good food for so long! And best of all, it's free! The chapel is really really nice too, forgot to bring camera, wasted.

In other news, i've decided to get my own single room. Please let there be rooms in CS or RH. Otherwise i've to put up posters and all that kind of logistics. Monday, Monday, i'll know, so i need all the luck in the world. Room mate isn't in tonight, at least so far, hope she doesn't come back! Feel so liberated without her around! This rounds up a good day!

Looking forward to Holidays, as usual. Was just planning the scotland trip with the group, got so psyched up! Woohoo!

What an emotional day

I've been such an emotional wreck these 2 days, mummy will know. Should i or should i not? Then again, i just found out that i have to get someone to stay in my room, else i'd have to continue paying which is ridiculous. There is also the problem of finding a room in other halls. THen again, i think i'm just being bloody fussy and. I'm confused. I wish i have my own house now.

Am i homesick? Definitely partially so. But i don't want it to get me down. I try to avoid thinking about it, i sure hope it's a phase that will pass soon.

Being away from home does make you a stronger person, at the end of the day. Although i most definitely haven't, but if you ride out all the "storms", which you have to anyway, you'll become tougher.

I know i'm not the only one going through this, i'll ride it out.
